Kaohsiung Good Food: Chamonix 夏慕尼

One of my best teppanyaki meal!
Very nice ambience. The place is dimly lit and the ventilators are very effective so you don't feel the smoke and oil.  The setting feels very classy for a teppanyaki place. One of the nicest I have been.
This outlet I dined in is a 2 storey restaurant. There are 3 teppanyaki counters on the 2nd floor itself.

The set menu consist of 9 items:

Bread (refillable)
Appetizer
Soup
Salad
Lemon Sorbet (refillable)
Main Course
Ying Hua Prawn Fried Rice (refillable)
Dessert
Drink

Bread for a start
Appetizer dish
Creamy soup

The salad dish: mini scallop and escargot

Main Course: I chose the Duck. a Fiery one

The fried rice is so good! I wish I had space for a second bowl.

The restaurant had a smart idea to shift the diners to tables at the other corner for dessert and drinks.
Good for the restaurant to bring in next round of diners and great for diners to sit over at the cozy area for a chat.

Dessert time
And finally the juice to help with digestion

Definitely a value meal with the great ambience and excellent service.
One set meal cost NTD1030 (plus 10% tax) which adds up to about SGD50 only!
This will probably cost twice as much back in Singapore I guess.

This is such a great place that I must share it with the rest.

Taiwan Kaohsiung: Where to find Fresh Market 菜市场

After staying here for 4 months, the only market i know of is Carrefour and Costco. Of which, Costco sells everything in huge quantity. Everything is American sized or it seem like it is meant for a family of 10. Too much for just the 2 of us.
While Carrefour met my basic needs for raw veg raw meat and has most of what i need for my dinner, something is missing still.

And this is when i found what i have been looking for.
A REAL MARKET!

To make it even better, the market in Kaohsiung is not wet slippery. Is not rowdy and no fishy smell.
I found a great vegetable stall and fish stall for my weekly marketing.

And for any foreigners residing in Kaohsiung who are looking for a good fresh food market, come to the Lao Dong Gong Yuan. The market is just opposite the park.
You can do shopping for plants and flowers to decorate your home too.
